[Cooper R50 CVT] How to drive fast with a CVT?

Hi everyone. it has been long time i have not make new thread here.

This is a cooper R50 cvt owner from Asia Hong Kong. Please forgive my poor english.

understand that not much hope for very aggressive drive with a justaCVT. anyway i would like to learn more the potential of a justa with that gearbox.

1. what is the skill of fast standing start?
2. what is the skill of fastest acceleration on a straight road like highways?
3. what is the skill for turning corners?

I did some research on internet (like MINI2 forum), the best skill of CVT acceleration is SD > kick down > rpm near redline before upshift > release gas pedal to the position at the "detent" to hold the rpm at around 5K-5.5K.

for above question no.1&2, i do think SD+kick down may not the fastest way to rise the rpm amount and work out the most powerful torque. It is not fast as using gear "1". However, if going to steptronic mode, you will need to manually upshift later and everytime of changing the gear, the car seems much hesitate to accelerate (should be sth about target speed calculation which waste time and power).

following are recent pics of my car. anyway i am happy with my ride.

This isn't a bad question. Lack of replies might have to do with the lack of (working) CVTs in existence, particularly amongst enthusiasts.

I am no expert but I have experienced that the CVT doesn't respond well to mashing the pedal down, and that I seem to accelerate better (or just as well) if I gradually apply pressure. I still have trouble accelerating uphill. And there seem to be a lot of situations where acceleration happens faster/slower than it did in a similar scenario. But I honestly think the potential is stifled by the ECU and I haven't had any tunes done despite my many mods.
