Strut brace battery cover mod

I bought a bavauto brace from a person here that was supposed to fit R50 (even the bavauto site says it does). However, after installing the brace it hits the hood. After some searches, it appears that the battery box needs modded.

Can anyone tell me how they did the battery box mod? Not sure that I want to allow the wiring to potentially get wet if I cut the box.

Saw some comments about a low profile battery box but can't find them anywhere. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ted

Don't recall a battery box mod. Do remember back when people were using the M7 Brace they needed to use a new top for the box beside the battery. Part of a computer connection or something in there..
Might could mark the battery lid where the brace runs across it, and if you think there is enough room under it for it to even work, take it off, heat it up real could and lay a heavy pipe across it in place to remold the shape..

Yeah, looks like the ECU is on the right side of the box. If it was just the battery under there I would have just dremeled the top off. I don't have a torch so may have to figure out something. I have a new battery box cover just in case the first one gets messed up.

Thanks for the idea.
