I was told (and read somewhere here) that Seafoaming a Justa really isn't necessary but take that for what it's worth, which is usually a grain of salt, lol.

Newminiowner123, it's confusing but your Justa has a different engine than most of the cars being discussed on the forums. You have an N16 engine, and the turbos have either an N14 or an N18. I have two Justas now, and it has taken me some time (also not mechanically inclined) to sort through what the Justas need, versus what the turbo engines (and, earlier, the supercharged engines) need.

You will have to pay close attention to any DIY instructions, etc, because you might not have the same engine components as they do. Some people believe in Seafoam treatments, some don't, most agree that it won't hurt... but there were a few examples of places NOT to put it, so be very informed before you do it. I don't know whether it will help you... certainly the N16 base engine doesn't get the carbon problems that the turbo engines do... but, done correctly, it won't hurt the car either. (at least from what has been said on this forum)
In all respects, since you have the engine that the minority on this forum has, check and double check before assuming anything that is said here, applies to you. :-)

Good luck!

Here is a video of someone doing the seafoam treatment to a 2007 Mini Cooper Non-S.. Might be the same.. Might not be. I would take the time to look at where he is under the hood and make sure it matches everything under yours before doing anything.

But... but... the video stops just when he is going to squirt the Seafoam into the intake thingy.... what happens next? Does the whole garage disappear? Does the MINI begin to run on unicorn farts?

My popcorn is getting cold now....

Well, I asked and this is what I was told:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...1-base-ht.html

And that earlier year sure might be an N12, but the main point is that it is not the same engine as a turbo has, of whatever age... so check and check again before applying any of it to your car.
