My girlfriend's R56 Mini Cooper got rear ended in her apt parking lot. The damage only appears to be in a small corner of the bumper, but we are going to take it to get an estimate at a shop.

I figure this would be a good time to upgrade to the JCW rear bumper. The Sewell Mini site shows that there are JCW rear bumpers available primered. From the diagram, it appears that it also has only one exhaust outlet on the side, so it would work with the Justa single exhaust.

The current bumper has the parking distance sensors, so if the bumper were to be changed, could they be removed from the current bumper and just installed on the new one?

Regarding the fogs, would it be a simple rewire or would the ECU need to be reprogrammed to work with the new fog lamps?

How much would I be looking at roughly to get all the components, and get the bumper pieces painted and installed, and how much does the dealer charge to reprogram the ECU?

The parking distance sensors can be removed and installed on the new bumper..

The new fogs do not need coding the ECU, I think the kit provides a Y junction for the two separate fogs..

 

Wondering if the OP ever finished this little project? I'm looking to do the same thing to my MC. I have no rear fogs and don't know how that works out with the new kit.
