Wood Grain Trim - Aftermarket?

Hi everyone,

Well, sadly I totaled my 07 Mini last week (hit a rolling spare tire from a tractor trailer at night) and have to buy a new one. I really want the wood trim currently inside my car, but it is far away from where I live, so not sure if I will get there before it is taken to the tow yard.

My question is, has anyone purchased the trim and shift **** from Outmotoring.com? http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...ake-boots.html

Or do you know any other source to purchase the trim? Don't car companies have to keep this stuff on hand for several years in case they need a replacement part for a car? Where are they hoarding it!??

I'm just running out of time with my wrecked car, and hoping someone else has purchased this and can advise me. It would make more sense for me to order it than spend a day driving to my car and removing the old panels.

Thanks so much for your help!

-LG

Very sorry to hear that and I am glad you are OK.

They are a good company, so you should have no issues. If you buy it and don't like it return it.

Aw thanks Braminator! It was pretty bad, but left me with a lot of respect for the construction and safety of the Mini. Crumple zones did everything they were supposed to do and left me intact sitting in the driver's seat. I will call Outmotoring tomorrow to find out more about the panels. But unfortunately the wooden steering wheel doesn't have airbags, so have to pass on that part.
