Exhaust

I'm curious on recommendations on aftermarket exhausts for the Non-S Cooper. I've been able to dig up a few (VIP, MilTek) but information and availability of sound clips is a nightmare. Any have suggestions? I would really like a drop ship kit that installs rather easy aka I don't want to cut factory pipes and weld stainless. My mig welder and sit in the corner and collect dust for this job!

Any suggestions? Information on installs? It seems to be hard to actually track down a vendor as well. Any help would be appreciated!

I am getting one pretty soon so I also am curious. At least for the R50 they had a nice sticky with the exhauts you could get plus sound clips. one noce thing was Megan actually asked what type of exhaust do you want provide me specs and a test mule. Man is that a nice exhaust.

I see your ID says you are from Eastern PA. It would be worth the drive to Philly and check out Eric from Helix Mini. I would suggest a Milltek. I've got one on my R53 and love it. You could drop ship it to them or just have them order it for you. Plan a day to walk around Philly and Eric and his guys will hook you up while you are have a tour. You'll love the fit, quality, and perfromance of your new Milltek.

We've actually used and installed the Milltek for the R56 Cooper. It bolted right on and sounded great.
I've actually got a sound clip I'll have to see if I can get posted.

Is the kit a direct bolt on? Sound clip would be nice.

Yes it's a direct bolt on. Here is the sound clip we made, not the best but an idea.

I hear more motor than exhaust in that video. And to me it didn't sound much different from the factory exhaust. Maybe it is me?

Sorry but the owner of the car didn't rev the car, she just held it at that one rpm. When she lets off and goes back to reving it you can hear the difference, but it's not the best. Remember I work on MINIs, don't make videos for a living.

No problems, at least I know of one direct bolt-on kit for the non-S Cooper.
