I have a R50 Cooper. K&N air filter is installed in my car. (just the head not the whole kit- dont have the pipe)

My question is:

Although I am pleased with the current sound, Is it worth buying the whole K&N or some other air filter kit? ( Actually I dont really care about 5hp gain, just for the sound)

If it is worth, what would you recommend? I just found this K&N kit so far

Since no one has answered your question in 40 posts....I will. I bought my kit (pipe, hose and filter) off ebay for 10 bucks. Its bad *** JDM green too! Looks like quality too...no joke. Filter is just fine if ridiculous for paying hundreds of dollars but just my opinion. I would post a pic but the Mini is in storage 6k miles away...

 

The Way/DDM (www.waymotorworks.com) and the aFe (afepower.com) are the two best intake kits for the R50. I have the aFe and I love it. I got it through VACMotorsports.

It sounds great.

 

I have the aFe system and LOVE it. I bought the dry filter, didn't want the bother of oiling the filter.

I bought the filter off a fellow NAM member.
