Nice write up! They both look better than the cheapo unshielded hot air intakes. I like the DDM intake hose with it's smoother & larger ID entry into the throttle body. The AFE has that angle where the OEM 55mm ID intake hose connects. Plus Way posted a dyno a while back showing some nice gains with the DDM.

 

Definetly a nice write up. I have owned both and do like the DDM. Sadly I don't really hear the intake anymore. My exhaust overpowers it! Ask Way about a nice inexpensive one like the Megan which was made for our cars. Actually from ideas on this forum.

 

The best would be an DDM kit, with a K&N cone filter replacing the shitty foam (like all foam filters, not only this)

 

I am glad you enjoyed it! It is hard to pull power from the R50 and for anyone looking to achieve the R50's maximum potential, I think the DDM is the way to go!

I still have my aFe intake in my storage shed, thought about switching filters to see how the performance of the DDM would be couple with the aFe dry filter...

Also in the works for the future, WAY Base ECU tune....stay tuned (no pun intended)

Also, if down the road a bit you want to sell your aFe dry filter, I may want to take it off your hands It looks like getting the cleaning kit shipped to Canada for the Pro 5R is a real hassle.
