Throttle cable, pedal and throttle body?

I looked around for any information i could find on swapping drive by wire to cable throttle and only came up with this http://www.haywardperformance.com/in...ems.php#cooper
I'm not looking to spend $2000 on an entire GT head swap (yet ) so i was wondering if anyone one had advice for converting the drive by wire?

I'd be more worried about problems that exists....like cvt failures on r50's...a $5000 problem...
Trying to fix issues that don't really cost much with big solutions, and whole new engineered solutions (like an unpowered steering rack, different post) wil likely never get a return on investment or a performance gain....drive by wire does have some performance gains...and it can be tweaked....during a tune or with a sprintbooster...
I'm not saying don't experment, but when you try to re-invent a wheel, you often find the best shape-a circle is already taken!!

I don't think you can do that since the engine management system uses the throttle position for so many things. The car won't run worth a hoot if the ECM isn't doing its job.

The kit looked like it came with a carb ....made for GP raceing....so off road...would be an interesting conversion....not sure why though...

i should have probably wrote that better, I'm not doing the GP racing swap short term (down the line i'll be taking my cooper offroad for good)
my reasoning behind the throttle cable verse drive by wire is i don't trust it. drive by wire has never really appealed to me considering the problems many computers have.
