Hi there, a quick warning first: I have little to no knowledge of cars (especially MINIs). However for some crazy reason, I have this weird urge to actually learn more about my MINI. So please take it easy on me as I'm a total newbie on this stuff but definitely would like to learn a few things.

I purchased my first MINI a few days ago ('07 non S cabrio..R52 I think). I LOVE it but I'm wondering now if I didn't make a mistake buying the non S. To be honest, it was either get the S or get the cabrio and well I just HAD to have the cabrio.

When I am stopped and then step on the gas, there seems to be quite a lag before the car actually 'goes'. Is this pretty normal? If so, is there any way to get a bit more performance and not so much lag? In my initial research I found the Sprint Booster and it kinda sounds like something that might help with this.

1. Am I on the right track?
2. Anyone have any experience with this and did it help? Would you recommend it?

There are some other things I want to do to her, add some custom stripes, etc. I have NEVER wanted to do anything to a car before and now I can't help myself. LOL

While in theory it sounds like a waste of money, I've heard so much good, and little if any, negative feedback about the Sprint Booster. I've never driven with one, but for your complaint, I think it might be just what you need. There are a few threads from R50 owners (mechanically the same car) describing their experiences here on this forum.
