Hi, Just picked up our 2nd Mini, a 2008 R56 6 spd. Other is 2006 R53s. anyways... only option I like thats missing is cruise control. Anyone ever done or heard of Cruise control being installed aftermarket? Most kits use a throttle cable which we of course dont have.

I'm not aware of any aftermarket cruise control kits made specifically for the Mini. I know some folks have installed oem cruise control but it wasn't easy or cheap. Do a search and you'll find some threads.

 

Yeah those that have done it have had lost of trouble getting the exact right parts. The windshield wiper and blinker control module (SLZ) will need to be raplaces as well as add the cruse control unit and then add MFSW if you don't have one. Lots of little pieces that add up to a lot of money and time to install.

Would be cheaper to sell that car and find one with cruise.

 

It can be installed but you need the SZL and the switches, then we have to reprogram the car.
