Had a JCW grille installed on my 2010 that I swapped back to stock before trading it in, intending to put the grille on my new 2011. Went to install it this evening only to find that - *surprise!* the grilles appear to be different. Width is the same, height is the same, but depth appears to be a bit less on the 2011 - with the bottom clipped in place the top flange on the grille doesn't sit flat against the radiator support - it's pushed forward a bit.

Has anyone else tried a '08-10 JCW grille on a 2011 that can either confirm or dispute my findings? It's not like installing the grille is rocket science...

I'm looking at/for grilles for my 2012 PW/B... Can anyone who's done a grille swap on a 2011 or 2012 justa confirm that the JCW won't fit an '11 or '12 justa, but the S grille will?

I just find it weird, because any store I've found make it seem as if both the S grille and JCW grille are fully interchangeable... unless they're BOTH different from '11 onward, and there's been a minor mid-cycle change between '10 and '11...

can anyone clarify and/or show closeup shots of the differences?

 

S grille won't fit either as the bottom of the grile is shaped slightly differently. There is no JCW / S style grille that will fit a 2011+ Cooper. There is a factory black grille though:

S grille and JCW grille are the same shape and are interchangeable. For 08-10 there was a Cooper-specific JCW aero kit as the hoods were shaped differently. With the 2011 style changes the S and Cooper hoods are the same except the scoop so the JCW aero kit is the same for both. If you put the JCW kit on your Cooper you will be using a S or JCW grille as you'll then have the same bottom shape as an S.
