Anyone have one? If so, reviews would be nice.

You mean one of these? If it's that, it's not worth the time it would take to order one, much less the $70 price tag. It kinda makes me think of those Ebay throttle resistors. Also a bunch of BS. I wouldn't bother. Spend that $70 on a set of good brake pads or something.

Hey but 50 hp and 50 tq added! Why would anyone get a cooper S? A custom tune would not give a cooper near 50 hp, there is no way this thing will.

Adam, research here about what different mods will make on our cars. A good way to tell if something is complete BS is to compare the claimed gains to something similar that has produced some kind of gain. For example, look at some of the dyno results on this site of our cars being custom tuned or even with canned tunes. There is absolutely no single mod that will give an MC 50 more hp or tq. Also notice that they do not even attempt to explain how it works. This just reeks of scam.

You know, I was thinking about this though. I know the car won't gain any power, but this throttle mod thingie sounds a lot like the sport button on my wife's 07. I wonder if this thing would give me the snappy throttle that my wife's car does in sport mode. If so, it's definitely worth a few bucks to get it imo.

Just a thought.

The only thing you'll gain from something like this is future electrical problems.

I knew you wouldn't be able to gain 50hp and 50 lb ft out of a MINI. I read a little note that said "power and torque increase vary depending on stock vehicle horsepower and torque" and that the absolute max you could gain was 50 hp and 50 lb ft. But that would be in a viper or zo6. I was just needing to know if anybody has one or know of anybody that has one and what kind of power and torque increases they saw. But thanks for the advice, there doesn't seem to be enough detail on these things for them to be a trustworthy product.
Thanks guys.

That product won't add any power/performance to any car. And until someone shows me the gains on the same car dyno'd on the same day, same conditions, with at least 4-5 runs to baseline, and 4-5 after - I'll put this along with the Tornado, the Electric Supercharger, the eBay chips, and the Sprintbooster ( lol)

Some people claim the Sprint Booster works. I say save your $$$, spring for a regular tune and be done with it.

I see every one says it's a fraud but has anyone gambled the $70 to see if it truly pie in the sky?

initially skeptical, i tried out the sprintbooster (30 day money back) and kept it. compared to my prior cars, i'm okay with the stock 118HP of my R56 MC auto, but i wasn't happy with the throttle response. the initial lag is so annoying. it does make a difference that even my sport button and mashing the pedal can't replicate. easier to modulate IMHO. can't say it's been too healthy on my transmission, though.

as for reliable HP increase, you'll need a real ECU tune as mentioned, which will also help throttle response but maybe not as much as the sprintbooster from what little i know, but overall will be a better way to spend your cash.
