height issues.

I want a mini very badly but there is one possible problem, my height.
I'm just over 6' 3" but very skinny.
I'm willing to deal with some problems by extending the seat tracks so i can move the seat back further and just lean back. I'm also looking more heavily at the wagons so hopefully there will be slightly more room for me to play with.

Is there anyone else out there that had or has this problem or is it even possible for me to fit into one?

My husband is 6'2" and fits just fine in his Classic. The seat rails have been extended and could be even more as the driver's seat isn't completely against the backseat, which is what works for him in our MINI Cabrio.

There's plenty of headroom, however I do notice him ducking a little to get a good view in the rearview mirror.

Good luck on your Classic search!

Do u know if a wagon or van would give me more room or if the height and leg room are pretty much the same in all the classic MINIs?

You have to go for a test drive in a classic mini.

Most likely your height is NOT a factor.

We have 6'7" owners in my area that do fine with the classic mini.

No seat modifications needed. Pretty astounding, but true.

What are you looking for? Pretty sure I can help. Check out "Tall-Mini" here in the site. I think he's 6-9, and he bought one off us a while back.

Sorry I can't seem to find the "tall mini" you were talking about.
Could you possibly send me a link that takes me to that specific page?

Alistair was referring to me. I am about 6'10" and I have a '80 convertable. Not a bad fit. I have the seat extentions on and the steering wheel drop. I also put in a quick release wheel to make getting in and out much easier (nice anti-theft devise as well.) I did go with a 13 inch wheel which freed up a ton of space. I may swap the seat out for something that sit a little lower as i would love to be able to sit a bit more upright so I can capture a bit of legroom behind me for my four year old boys.

At 6'3" you should be fine. Be careful of the newer Rover cars (and re-vins thereof) as I hear they have seats that tend to sit a bit higher and don't have as much adjustment space.

Alistair- are you going to have your cabrio up and ready for MME this year? Being its "just down the street" I have begun to lay the ground work to attend (if my car is complete by then)

That's what those are! I found a pair of these sitting in the rear compartment of my Mini when I bought her, and couldn't figure out what they were.

cool.

Cassy, don't tell me that. Peter hides all kinds of stuff in the cars when he ships them, and I sometimes don't find all of it LOL

I've had my bonnet off several times now, and realigning it afterward is a Major Payne Diaz. I looked at the quick release bonnet hinges but got turned off real quick after looking at what MM wanted for them. I'll put up with my slow release/Slower install bonnet awhile longer.
