British Open Classic
British Open Classic
Saw this "British Open Classic" at a local car dealer In Raleigh, NC. I happened to have my camera with me so I took a couple of pictures. It looks in good shape. It is a 1981 with 30,000 orginal miles. The sign says they want $14,900 for it. I took more pictures but this system seems to allow only three attachments.
Biritsh Mini Open
I just wanted to post a note on here to give you a heads up. I will warn you that you are being misdirected as they are advertising this as a 1981 Mini British Open. If it was a true Mini British Open then it would be a 1992 and British Racing Green... not black. It will have a 1275cc engine if it was a Bitish Open and it will also have half leather seats (tan) with green piping around the edges (looks like it may have this interior). The sunroof will be automatic and not pushback or wind open (looks like an electric roof). There was also a walnut dash and door and rear seat oak cappings. The steering wheel was also wood.
I would be scetchy about this Mini and the sellers integrity because this is not a 1981 (if it is a real British Open). I guarantee that he has no proof that it has 30k original miles unless the 1981 which the VIN tag came off of had 30k original miles and paperwork to prove it. This would be a different car that had 30k original miles... not this one. It could be a repainted British Open but then it is not a 1981. I think that the price is very high in my opinion but I get all of my Minis from Europe so the prices are much different.
Just be aware of what you are looking at... there are many quality Minis out there but there are alot of half arsed people out there trying to make a buck. I would hate to see someone get taken by a sheister. Look up "Mini British Open" on the web and you will see what it is supposed to look like. Good Luck and I am sorry if I spoiled the thought of a good deal.
