Thanks to all for the answers to my previous questions. I was able to remove and figure out my commision number tag, thanks to the description in my previous posting.

The little tag has not been treated too well by time and it is quite hard to read. Does anyone have a picture of what one of these little tags looks like?

Actually I have two. One is black and it has the following stamping:
A-A2SBL-1084162A. No problems on that one.

However, what is the deal with the other tag? It is red and it is labeled as the Commision No. It reads: 2-15S-5706A.

The info I used from MiniMania for my Mini does not list commission no. info for that year range Mini (from the VIN (the black tag), appears to be 59-69, probably later in that range based on the sequencial build number, 1084162). Maybe someone else has more info on early year commission #s.

 

The black tag is your VIN, the red tag is the commission #.
