A few places to start

a) Watch the original Italian Job! (ok - you won't learn anything, but it's fun)

b) http://www.outmotoring.com/mini_history.html

c) http://www.mini-maniac.com/history.html

d) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_Cooper

There's too much info to answer your question in this space. After all, they made 5.4 Million Minis....

what's the fastest Mini? The one someone spent the most money on.... $$$$$$$ = speed The faster you make it, the less reliable it is unless you insert a VTEC. An A-series can make 120+ HP

what's the slowest, conversely a stock 850 cc Mini

I am fitting a 1275 MG metro turbo engine (essentially what is in the ERA) this week. It is a slightly modified setup an should put out around 140WHP or so. Check out www.turbominis.co.uk for more on the turbos. I think some on there are running close to 200hp with the A series. Fun!
