innocenti

I just was wondering how many innocenti owners are on this site. I own a 1974 Innocenti 1300 which is blue & white. Also have a 2002 MCS which is dark silver & white.

Thanks
Inomini

I have been the happy owner of about 40 Innocenti Lambrettas over the years but never owned an Inno Mini - it's in the works, though.

I wish that I did...maybe the next classic for me? Either that or a clubbie (or nothing if my wife has anything to do with it.) Why am I not laughing?

Had a '72 Mini Minor 1001 while I was in Italy last year. Really sparked my interest in Minis and cars in general.

The 1300 6 gauge dash is sooo nice.

People have told me that Mini Innocentis had better build quality and were more reliable than their British Leyland counterparts....Myth?

The Innocentis were much better build quality in my opinion - they had a much nicer trim level & accessories, etc. As far as being more reliable, I believe the engines were still made in the UK.

BTW, I just picked up this Innocenti Lambretta project. I hope to find an Inno Mini to go with it soon. [IMG][/IMG]

Well, we picked up our Innocenti. Guess this means you'll see a little more about them in our magazine.

Here are a couple pics of my 67 Innocenti. I have had it for just over two years now. It now has a 1310 built by Graham Reid of Heritage Garage in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Unfortunately, I will probably be selling it soon if anyone is interested.

Wayne, why are you selling it? The woody to the right of you in your Monterey photo also just sold - for a small fortune I heard. Are you going to be at the MOALA meeting tomorrow?

Very nice Inno!

The towns are so typical of south Italy. Minimad, jr is in Casarano near Lecce. Most of the small towns are very similar. His has some very nice coastal and inland drives though. Lot's of olive groves, etc...My wife and I are very fond of the area and Italy, in general.

Rocket... can you PM me or post info on the 100A Saturn alternator that you had installed? I'm also wondering what "conversion" work needed to be done, if the replacement was the same size as the weak OEM one. My car is a 92 so I should have the upgraded alternator (I believe the later models used a 40A or 45A unit), and so far it seems to be running everything fine even with 4 driving lamps instaled. However, I will be adding a stereo to my car soon, so I'd like to have upgrade options in case the Mini one proves to be too weak to handle the load.

Thanks and nice car!

It's exactly the same size; my mechanic had it in within an hour and a bit (he just had to re-do one wire). I was trying to cobble together all the pieces seperately (usign Ebay) and I figured I'd just phone the guys at Alterstart and see if they knew anything about the conversion and sure enough, they've sold a ton of them. They do all the wiring right there, you just swap the units (or so I'm told, anyhow). I think it was a couple hundred bucks? I forget. It's been a great unit, though!

HOw much to pay for an Innocenti?

Hey out there. Honestly I dont know much about Minis, especially innocentis. I am looking into buying a '73 I found for sale and was wondering how much I should pay for it. It sounds like a good deal to me, but I'm not sure. Its in pretty good shape - needs about $500 in engine work and $1000 in body work and replacement parts. Any idea what this might be worth? I know thats a tough question, but even a price range would help. Thanks to all of you that do know these cars well.
