Shopping List - Front Disc Conversion

I will be converting my front drums on my '75 austin to discs and want to make sure I have everything i will need before I get started (I am not so mechanically inclined so help!). I will be keeping my 10s and going with the 7.5" setup. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here's what I have so far:

brake calipers, New pistons, seals, and pads

I know i need the 7.5" cooper s rotors, but what else will I need? Thanks as always.

Matt

Check the threads on minimania.com on this topic. MM also offers the full conversion as a kit. The have photos of it which may help you.

I've converted to 8.4's not 7.5's. So don't have first hand knowledge but it looks pretty similar.

The outer CVs on a Cooper S are larger in diameter than the drum brake set up so you'll need them and hubs/bearings too.

Beside the parts in the picture you will also need backing plates which don't come in the kit and brake hoses which also don't come in the kits.

You will probably also need a brake master with a larger capacity reservoir. Displacing fluid behind the large caliper pistons could suck your drum master dry! Notice the difference in the parts books. Also the bore within the master is likely to be a different diameter. Excelent move getting rid of the front drums

I can see a couple things that are missing from that picture...inner and outer rubber CV boots and I'm not sure but you may need new uprights when changing from drum to disc.
