Gauges taken out of binnacle?
Gauges taken out of binnacle?
We've been considering doing a remake of a Speedwell dash, and if we do that, can the gauges be taken out of our binnacle and mounted in the new wood dash (assuming correct size of holes) or do we have to buy new gauges?
Is there any reason not to try it?

We're talking a "classic" right? Don't see one in your sig' ....
If they are the standard SMITH's dials, they are easy to remove and reuse . . .
Are you trying to copy a Speedwell, or do you have one that you are contemplating replacing?
If replacing, are you sure it is a Speedwell? If so, a genuine one could be worth a few bucks.

Or is it a Rokee like this:

This one is available again, but a bit pricey.

Yes, it's for our Classic. It's a standard three gauge binnacle. We hope to copy the Speedwell, and mount the gauges on that. It looks fairly straightforward.
Let's see if the image shows up..
