New to the site, New to Mini

Hello people. My name is Phil I am new to the site. I Purchased a 1975 Mini 1000 last month. It is in running condition but it has a lot of little things that need to be done and are a ton of things I would like to do .

Things that need to be done:

Replace steering rack
Fix parking brake (it works but not so well on inclines)
Replace clutch
The lower seals of the output shaft leak oil (probably the most time consuming thing to fix)
Fix the horn and Turn signals

Things I would like to do:
replace the seats
Swap the drum brakes with disks
Turbo
maybe install a stereo and speakers

here are some pics as it sits now:

Nice starter project..............as for changing rack you will need to drop the front sub-frame to gain access........but since your changing the clutch for a first timer it may be easier to take engine out first then drop sub out....you will also need to remove column .............good luck

Nice to see a Mini here.

Great looking car - Sorry I cannot help, but best of luck with the restoration!

Welcome to the forum. Most of those projects are straightforward but not so easy. I've done some of those projects, and lots of others. Feel free to ask questions here.

Good luck with your projects. Feel free to ask for help or advise. And make sure you update us with your project status.

Some questions:
* is that astro turf for carpet? Looking good ...
* does it have the original engine or has a 1275 been swapped in?

Jeff

That's what I was wondering!

Looks like you have a nice starting point to do a lot of work on it. As Jeff said, feel free to ask questions and especially browse through the forum as a lot of us have done the work that you want to do.
