I drove my friend Danny's 1969 mini for the first time last night. He's the guy with the afro who showed up to the So Cal New Year's Day rally (blue car). It has a 1000cc engine freshly rebuilt and man was it a blast. It's not quick at all, but the best part is you don't need to slow down for corners, which makes it a BLAST to drive. I'm saving my pennies right now and might buy one this summer, just had to share my pleasant experience!

Zamirz,
That's great. If you do get your own classic mini just let us know and post some pictures.
You don't need tons of HP to have fun. At least not ALL the time.

Even though many classic Minis aren't super quick, having your **** about 8 inches off the road certainly makes them FEEL fast.

Heck, you can do what I did with my 998cc car - just lop off the muffler and put a cherry bomb on it. At least you'll sound fast.

The sound in back of that little mini with cherry bomb was louder than a Magnaflow on an MCS.
And be careful not to stand in back of the car or you will be peppered by black debris. Say, I wonder if that black stuff are microscopic engine parts. I guess that 998cc engine is a bit less than 998ccs now.
