On the way to work this morning, I saw a classic Mini, burgundy, with right hand drive. I gave him a beep, but I couldn't see if he waved back.

Anyway, I thought it might be cool to have a record of classic Mini sightings here on NAM. Anyone else spotted one in their neighborhood?

What area you live in?

There are quite a few classics down here.

I'm in Tallahassee. Since we don't have a dealer, I rarely see another MINI, much less an old school Mini. I've seen a couple of MINIs on the FSU campus, probably students from out of town. Other than that, I've only seen one MINI that appeared to be a local. I think it will be a while before I have to worry about people getting to jaded to notice the car and wave!

When I was home for Thanksgiving I saw a light green one parked on someone's front lawn in Washington,
CT. I really can't wait to drive one! I was disappointed that I didn't get the chance when I was in London
earlier this year. There have to be scads of places that rent them there.

I live in Montgomeryville, PA and recently saw an orange one for sale on Rte 309. Don't know what year or anything else about it. But it'd be interesting if the owner is on this forum.

There's a really nice one down the street from me, I've talked to the guy about it quite a bit. It's a 1961 Morris Minor, red with a white top. It's a right-hand drive, and it's an awesome car. He's selling it for 9,000 OBO, if any of you are interested. I would buy it, just don't have the money... Location is Orange County, California...

countrym,
A very nice classic mini indeed.
While I was in the UK this summer it was not too uncommon to spot a classic mini or two. Near my hotel in London (Paddington area) was a red Classic mini Seven. In Hawaii there are about 8 to 10 classics but we usually see only about 4 of them regularly at events. They are always very popular and draw a crowd.

I live in West Los Angeles and see classic Mini's now and then, as well as Morris Minors (which I love, too)! Just a short block and a half east of me, a couple owns an IB/W classic Mini, left-hand drive.

Occasionally, I am lucky enough to see it blasting up the hill and it always makes me smile!

I saw my first (in person) mini last weekend in Nyack, NY. A 1974 for sale for $10,900. Redish-orange. Show room was full of classic cars.

Also sat in a New Mini at dealership on 57th st NYC. Very impressive car. But I think I prefer the classics. Must get myself one!

I had a 1967 Mini Countryman Van delux (delux meant it had a gas gauge I think). Is your little mini van with windows also referred to as a Countryman?

I see one in my driveway every day. Other than that I rarely see any in the Clearwater/Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL area except when I attend Mini events.

Hey, Minigma! Welcome to North American Motoring! Are you located anywhere near the Dragon (Rte. 129)? Be sure to check out the National Events Forum, as well as your regional area forum, to read about the Dragon and to meet other MINIacs near you in TN. If you have any questions about the site, please send me a Private Message. Cheers!
