Adjusting Vented Rear (Quarter?) windows

Has anyone adjusted/tightened the latch on the quarter windows? My driver side rattles like mad, and is loose enough that it will eventually rattle closed. It seems like I should be able to bend that "spring steel" sort of piece, but haven't really got it figured out yet. Any suggestions?

Matt

WOW! Nothing? Nobody has had this problem? Or maybe it's just that nobody has a fix??

I'm guessing no one has a fix .... other then replace the latch and the seal.

Mine don't close tight enuf to keep out all the water - were the car not garaged and seldom seeing rain it would be a bit of a problem. Now I just know not to spray there hard when washing and where to mop up cuz this leak area is a MAJOR rust contributor.

And one of them won't stay open ... the latch will be overpowered by wind and vibration at about 50 mph.

I asked an 'expert' here once and he said there's nothing that can be adjusted. After inspection I tend to agree other than possible seat of the pants fixes like re-drilling the mounting holes to move the latch and make it tighter for my snugness problem (my window seals are actually not very old) and possibly trying a 'pinch' or drilling out the pin and replacing with something tighter for the closing problem .... or drilling a small hole and using a locking pin to hold the latch open (easiest fix for #2)

Now if experience holds true .... my having ventured a WAG at this issue with no responses will trigger a plethora of "no you are wrong" replies

which is OK, cuz that's the info we wanted huh?

I guess we just need a spark, right? Maybe a really dumb idea.....

"It's an easy fix, you just need some concrete anchors, a ramset and some JB Weld"

Someone HAS to argue with that...

Tennis ***** are your friend... Wedge 'em in the window. End of problem.
Another handy use is to cut a slice in one so you can slide it on the damned bonnet catch.
Or you could proudly carry the "scar of shame" on your noggin.
