From user name I suspect a lady/girl/chick/female ... pick one!
ARE U prepared for a "collector car" that will probably need weekly maintenance???
A Mini is a great first "hobby car" but realize that a garage, a good set of tools, a set of good reference books to the car, and a check book with a decent amount of leftovers every month....are nearly REQUIREMENTS for owning a classic.
Don't plan to park this car outside the apartment and drive it daily.....if you can support a second car ... aka ... a toy; go for it
and yes...headrests make me question the 73 heratige....I suspect a re-vin
What engine has it..says a 1300...that's WAY after a 73?

It's probably a late 1980's, early 1990's model. Naturally a re-vin with a 1973 vin plate. The fender marker light, cooper decal, steering wheel, rear fog light give it away. That's if those things are stock. I would also want to know what they know if anything about the replacement engine, IE mileage, year etc.
Capt_bj is right though, it depends on what you want to do with it if its a good deal for you or not. Not sure why it matters that your female or not though.
If its as nice in person as it looks in the pics its priced about right. Again pull up the rugs, check the underside as well as all of the corners and crevices for rust problems.

There's classic Mini clubs in your area (Oregon & Seattle) Check with the members. They'll likely know about the car more than anyone & can advise.

I am in the portland area and if you are serious about the car, I could take a look sometime. I am a member of the oregonminisociety btw. This car has been for sale on and off for a while. It started at around 10k I think.
Sorry for delayed response guys, I was on the road for business. Yes, I am a lady/girl/chick/female. Proud of it too, thanks
I do own my own place, which has a garage of which you speak of. As for tools, I have plenty, plus more. I'm not an average 'go have my nails done' female, so need not worry that I barely put any thought into this.
As for the other responses, thank you so much!
Jeepster, I live in seattle so to save me a 3 hour one way trip just to check the little guy out would be lovely! I am serious about it, but want to know all the details first.
