You don't necessarily need water to wash your car. Griot's Garage has some Spray-On Car Wash stuff, so does Meguire's. I use the Griot's and I have a Space Heater for the garage, it's not the greatest, but it works, I just bundle up, take out some nice Hot Tea and go at it.

So, did they get the New MINI of Fort Myers going in time for your service?

Saw on NAM that they were expecting to be open for service last Saturday.

Local Newspaper's Saturday Auto section had a MINI story, but it was a national feed,
only local Dealer opening news was the New Infinity Dealer, down the Trail giving away a G30.

Local MINI must be having a 'soft' opening.

And when are the US-based BMW centers going to start dual-servicing MINIs?? In Europe, I could take the MINI to a BMW center and they could do some work on it (not the MINI-specific work as much as the regular checks/oil changes/services) without interfering with the warranty...but here in the states, not so much.

^^^^^^^^^^it would seem to make a lot of sense, I'm sure that they lose sales just because a lot of folks would not be comfortable so far from MINI Service.

It has been mentioned on NAM that the Austin BMW is providing all but Warranty Service for MINI's, but they are also soon opening their new MINI Dealership. Have not read any other instance of BMW servicing MINIs.

I did visit the new MINI of Fort Myers and they were painting the floor in Service and said that it would be another week or so, before Service would be open. They received their C of O Friday and MINIs started arriving yesterday, but their Dealer License won't be issued until the 23rd.

An online search for them just opens up a lot of MINI of Fort Myers employment needed sites, since our area is nearly 14% un-employed, this is most welcome.

Met a new MA, Jason Johnson and he seemed very nice, they had 33 new MINI's in stock, but won't be able to deliver any until the Dealer License and Service opens for final prep.

While I was there, a huge, completely enclosed auto carrier arrived with another load from the Brunswick, GA Port Facility. Saw something new to me, our (2007+) side mirrors can be easily manually swiveled towards the window, to cut storage width to the fenders.

You didn't know that? I have the electronic control on mine (push a switch and they swivel inward to the body), but I can still do it manually if need be.

I knew that the electronic folding mirrors option existed, never wondered how they 'folded'.

Always learning, they had all the MINI's side mirrors folded to fit inside that super MINI Transport!

Also had never seen such an Auto Transport, kept all the MINIs totally enclosed and protected 'out-of-sight' inside.

That's interesting. Here in the Nashville market I've never seen commercial one about MINIs. Now I have seen a couple of commercials for Cadillac and Suzuki using a MINI for comparison. Trying to say they are better than a MINI. How silly can they be????

Miniola - There's a historic rocket launch coming up next week you might want to try and see.

http://www.space-travel.com/reports/...h_Pad_999.html

This will be the first test launch Ares rocket series. Wish I could be there to see it.

HI all, this has nothing to do with MINI dealerships opening or commercials -

but tonight is supposed to be a shower of shooting stars! I won't be awake to see it but from the reports I read it sould like it will be quite a sky show.

I know!! I have seen those also. It really makes my level of respect for those auto companies REALLY diminish!!
I love the one where they have a Mini and then have a huge big SUV pull up and totally block out the Mini... THEN claim that it gets better gas mileage......

Hey guys,,, I had a really weird experience yesterday.... my work day started with me arriving at my clients home at 8 am,,, I felt like my allergies were acting up and even talked to my client about having allergies... then by 2:30 I looked in the mirror and thought,,,hhhmmm girl, you look pale.... then finished up my day ad had a nice dinner with 4 of my really good girlfriends. Got home,,, felt achey so took a nice hot soak in the tub,,, got out and started chilling and oh my gosh it really went downhill from there!

Went to the dr's today and she said she wasn't even going to swab for H1N1- that I had all of the classic signs,, the main one being that it hits like a ton of bricks within minutes,, I went from no fever to 101.5 in a flash.
Now I am worrying about whether or not to tell my poor friends that I probably contaminated all of them, not to mention my clients! Of course my Dr. says unless I shared food or drink with them that they will probably be okay.... but OMG I still feel so horrible. The cough and headache are brutal.

So there's my story. I swear, I have been sick more in the past year then I have been in the past 5 years!!

CAB! Yes you should tell your friends! Does your husband have it? If not... who have YOU been sharing glasses and such with? Hmmmm? H1N1 isn't like mono... it's the flu! Boy, it sure seems like the doc should have at least done the swab... it's a bad idea to just tell people they have H1N1 without confirming anything. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon.

Hey there Pilotart!

No, I did NOT get to go to the new place. Someone by the name of "Two" was supposed to call me back about getting a seat track but I never heard from him. I had to go to Ferman but it was a better experience this time. No mouse poop in the car! With the MSSD trip coming up I really couldn't take the risk of Ft Myers not coming through in time. I had scheduled Ferman as a back up... thinking that Ft Myers might not happen. Can't wait for them to be open though... I HATE driving all the way up to Palm Harbor.

Yeah, that seems like a pretty cool thing to see! I wonder if it will actually go? Are they sending a monkey? JK. Actually I have my art class that evening and think it might be too much to rush over there and back in time. I'll try to catch the next one though.

As for MINI commercials- I see them Mon-Thurs nights on the Comedy Channel. They always have them on during the Jon Stewart show and Colbert Report. Guess they know the market? They have two different ones with hard tops and then there's one with dueling Cabrios. The two Cabrios soak each other with muddy water... but last I knew... these things weren't Jeeps with plugs that allow one to let the water out. Although entertaining... I don't think I've seen any disclaimers stating "Don't try this at home"... so it's a good thing I'm not an idiot.

Alright little Freebie buddies... I've got to go. I just wanted to stop and say "hey". I've got lots of stuff to prepare. Maybe I should go to bed early. I'm kinda tired.

g'nite!

Wow, I sure hope that '...flu' leaves you as quickly as it attacked.

The last MINI Commercial I recall seeing was the one about "Counterfeit MINIs" that featured a Malibu with racing stripes, must have been National, as there has not been any local MINI presence here before.

I do look forward to see what local advertising will be seen from the new dealership. They (Sonic Automotive) seem to do a lot for the other dealerships that they own locally.

I am happy to see what I have seen, they have a great location and a substantial structure, it looks like they will be stable and successful.

I had been counting on all the rumors to come true when I bought my MINI 133 miles away, 18 months ago. I am glad that I have never had any problem with my MINI, but from what you read on NAM, that is not always the case.

Sweet dreams tonight and have a great adventure on your MSSD trip.

Glad that Ferman did well by you this time and I'm sure Fort Myers will be a pleasant experience for your next service.

Sonic Automotive also owns the MINI Dealership in Houston.

Yah,,, I emailed my friends last night,, I figured warning them ws the best way. Just don't want them to worry uneccessarily,,, and Re: The Dr. deciding not to swab,,, I know!! I felt weird saying no, I want the swab to be sure,, especially when she was so certain that I have it. But it would have been nice to have known for sure. But it is a hard hitting bug,, unlike anything I have had so I think she might know what she is talking about... LOL

And Ola?? I don't recall you having mouse poop in your Mini??? Did you really????
And hubby was the only person sharing my drinks and saliva *grin* lucky man!! We are both on Tamiflu and I can see a huge improvement this morning which I am guessing is from the Tamiflu so lets keep our fingers crossed that hubby doens't catch it.
