I will be getting the truck on or about Oct 27. I had to ship it from Hawai'i.

I think there are at least a few pick-ups among the MOALA membership. I recall seeing photos, posts for sale for two in California last year. Don't know if they sold or where they landed... a recently restored dark blue one and a basically unrestored tan original with new canvas canopy top.
MiniPappu- congrats and let's see more photos once you get the little rascal.

Mercy-
That would be a teenager's dream... In reality, though, a current BINI pickup would look a lot like one of the Red Bull promotional MINIs, minus the giant can of course.
Wonder how long it'll be before Red Bull sells those and they become "pick-up" conversions? Based up the Red Bull models, a new pick-up would be pretty worthless, functionally, compared to the classic. Pretty amazing how the classic pick-up, which is a foot shorter than a new BINI, still has impressive cargo area in the bed. A new one would likely be two feet longer than the classic, and still have less cargo area.

Agreed... which would make a hypothetical new MINI pick-up about 2 feet longer than the classic, and I'd guess that it would still have less cargo space than the classic. Simple comparisons, either way, are unfair as the world has changed "slightly" during the 50-year span between the initial design of each.
Awaiting new photos of the Minipup! Congrats, again.
