Almond Green Pics & Paint Code Wanted
Almond Green Pics & Paint Code Wanted
I am thinking about Almond Green / English White roof as a potential paint color for my Mini. Can anyone post some pics of your Almond Green mini and its interior. I understand that there have been more than (1) Almond Green. The color I like is the shade that I saw on a '97 Mini. Does anyone know how to get a paint code that can be matched in the US for both Almond Green and the English White?
Thanks, Graeme

If you go here
http://www.sherwin-automotive.com/
go the the 'Formula Express' tab and select Formula Express
Under "oem color code" select "advanded search"
give your model year
select manufacturer "austin"
then search....you should get a list of all the factory colors & codes for the UK Austin's in and around that year. Also you'll get the S-W formula numbers which should allow any S-W automotive dealer to mix the color in any of their products...one step or clear/base.
for example here's old english white :
Make - Code - Formula - Part - Name -Years
Austin - WT3 - 4228 - Exterior - Old English White - 66 > 67
Searching for 1966 austin comes up with 22 entries
looking at 1970 I find Flame Red
Austin - BLVC61 - 4038 - Exterior - Flame Red - 70 > 72
and the only white on the list for that year
Austin - BLVC59 - 11273,4098 - Exterior - Glacier White - 70 > 78
{note that sometimes there is more than one formula for a single code...sadly sometimes they change the color slightly so be careful if color matching on a panel. I had a Nissan repair come up with 4 form' for one code!}
Look in the phone book for automotive paint suppliers, or directly for S-W ... the auto store is not the same as the household outlet in my experience.
Or - the code "should" be the same anywhere...and with the code any supplier should be able to cross reference to the mixing formula, IF their database includes the particular manufacturer and year.
I've had good luck with S-W tho....

I am not sure, but think that might be on Joltfreaks website....the paint code

Since you want to go from orange to almond green and it seems like you are not trying to restore something to factory specs just go to a "real" paint dealer or maybe even a larger body shop. They should have binders of colors where you can pick out what you like, kinda like they do for house paint at the home depot.
