Document Holder and Spotlight Covers

So, im on spring break and I decided to work on the mini list. Im not a professional, just a hobbiest. The first thing I had was a document holder for the glove box. Did not find any so I decided to make one. Its purpose built to hold my fuel log (my old planner) and all of my documents for the car like the insurance paperwork and some business cars, etc... and a pen. The internal width is the size of a sandwhich bag, but I guess it could be as large as the box itself. I thought it would be a nice idea to put in a section between the velcro tabs just to hold business cards, but I dont have any.

Since I had a bunch of vinyl leftovers from that project, I decided to try and make some spotlamp covers. I hardly use the spotlights, and I do drive it in places that have sand and gravel, so I wanted some protection for them. They are held on with two velcro spots. Simple really, but they can be whipped off in no time. Im sure the official ones with the lucas printing are really nice, but I cant afford 4 @ $56 a piece.

While Ive got the sewing machine out, would anyone be interested in any of these? Im open to offers and suggestions.

Document Holder: $5
Spotlamp covers: $7 each
PM me shipping addresses and I do take paypal

Those spotlamp covers are very nice. If I had some on my Mini I'd totally buy some.

Very nice. But I don't have a glovebox to put the document holder in.

You can still just throw it on the dash. Bourne Identity style. LOL. I have a card holder that holds my insurance card that just hangs out on the dash.

Yes, you can just throw it somewhere on that lower dash rail.

Ive managed to make a few more things: A bag to hold the spotlight covers, A bag that holds my change, and Im currently working a bag to stick my jack in instead of the heavy duty plastic bag that came from the factory.

I still had some leftover vinyl, so next on my list was a nice fitting Jack bag. I hated the factory plastic bag and always wanted the nice official one, but sadly they are hard to come by and so I gave it a shot. Inside there is a slot for the cap removal tool and the locknut, and I made a sleve that goes over the jack handle .

I also ended up making a cover for the warning triangle that you can see in the photo below

I like that Jack bag. I hate the plastic bag mine is in too. I'm thinking about that document holder but I don't really have any documents to put in it...

The jack bag in the photos is a prototype bag, if I was making another there would be a few changes to the way its made. Initially I wanted to make it like the really nice factory bag, but I did not like the way the tools were crammed into it, so I did my own thing.

The document holder was designed to hold my fuel log/maintenance record booklet and the few pieces of paper like the insurance card and some club business cards. Not alot, but every time I opened the box door stuff would fall and it started getting messy with the receipts from mini related things, so they all got lumped into one place.

Ive also made a bag to hold change that goes in the door pocket, but it could also go next to the document holder in the glove box with minor modifications.

Great ideas. I'm all for finding ways to make the usable space in the Minis more usable.

What size are your spotlamps? I'm thinking about getting some spotlamps and I like your covers.

My spotlamps are the stock Rover ones, they have a 6.5 inch diameter lens.

They are fantastic. the outer ones are designed to project light onto the sides of the road, a real bonus when driving along places that have deer. The inner ones come on with the high beams and are very bright spots projected forward.
I think the inner are 65W and the outer are 55W with the main beams being 100W.....not really sure on the exact numbers.

If you want something, PM me. Ive sold a couple of spotlamp covers and several document holders. I just make stuff that I think is cool or necessary like the covers.

I think I am going to try to make a parking brake cover "gaitor" Ya I can buy one but id like to give it a shot. It requires a special decorative stitch to match the seats and steering wheel covers.
