Looking for suggestions for a name for my new 1976 austin. Just cant decide. Thought about "pokey" after a comment someone made about the 998cc. Like Gumby's sidekick except there is no orange on the car so I don't know. Not even sure if the car is male or female and I wouldn't want to give it a complex or anything. All suggestions concidered, Please help. I will have to figure out a "prize" for the winner.
I have several names I call mine. But none I can share in a public forum. Then, there are the good days....
If its not a funky name, then it ought to be properly British
hahaha- thats what I tell folk. When I am working on my Minis I give them all manner of names that can't be repeated.
As for Pokey-- in England we use it as slang which means it goes fast. Therefore if you have a 'pokey motor' you have a fast car. Or 'give it some poke' means, give it some gas. The names I gave to mine were The Chepstow Mini or Marys Mini, or Daves Mums Mini, etc to differentiate them. When I bought a Mini for myself and my girlfriend Vickie- she chose Toadstool for her yellow one and Orange Juice for my orange one.
I did inherit one name when I bought a Mini off my mates wife- and that was 'Alfie' which I did quite like.
I need to see a picture before I can just throw out a name.
I think this is the snow white one with 1275 on the side he got from Canada ?
If this is the one I am thinking of- then maybe Sleepy or Sneezy or Happy but not Dopey........
Clive (in memory of Clive Trickey, some name huh?)
During the 1960s the man to write about Mini tuning was the late, great Clive Trickey. In his tragically short life, Trickey passed on more knowledge about Mini tuning than most people have forgotten and brightened up the pages of many magazines in the process.
