On the other hand... looking at those meaty tires on the lawnmower-- If you switch to 10" set up, could be some unstoppable winter/mud treads! Oops! Maybe you're aready using 10" wheels and that lawnmower is smaller than it first appears.

Reason: Oversight... are you already running 10s?
Got my parts today. She's running but I guess (i don't know for sure. i was at work) my dad took her for a test drive and her brakes went out so now i still can't drive her and i have to buy more parts
I think the main time is in bleeding and refilling the system - the lines themselves are simple bolt-ons IIRC the Haynes book... If you're not comfortable bleeding brakes, any basic garage can do the job really fast.

My dad is going to help me do it. He's a mechanic.
Then the bleeding process should be well-known to him. Just use the Haynes book to scope out the specifics ahead of time, and let us know how diffucult/easy it ends up being (I'm pondering this swap as well at some point). You're lucky that you have someone "in the know" right there with you!
You sure he didn't accidentally hole the line while he was setting the car on fire re-welding your seat bracket?

:: ducking ::...
LOL no the seat wasn't in the car when he did that. I think it was that way when I bought it but the previous owner didn't know about it. I'm glad my dad was driving the car when the brakes went out because if I was driving it I would've been freaking out.
I might have to just get one replacement rubber hose from GB car parts. They don't sell the braided hose kit for my mini. Mini Mania has it but I don't want to pay 100$ for it and their rediculous shipping costs.
I'm going to be pricing braided lines for my classic while I'm in Australia in September. How much would you be willing to pay for a set? I'd be willing to pick up a 2nd set while I'm there if you want, if the price is right.

That's alright. I'm assuming they will cost alot and I don't want to pay over 100$ for brake lines...
I'm planning on picking up a bunch of parts while I'm there. Mini parts are cheaper, cause they were built in Aus and you can actually just go to an Autozone equivalent and get Mini parts.
Any idea what engine bay brightwork goes for over there? I'm looking for a tall alloy rocker cover with chrome cap, new coil (or a convincing cover), alloy radiator fan bracket and radiator cap, alternator cover and the like... My bay's a total mess...
Give me an idea what kind of money you're willing to spend for each and I'll keep my eyes open. I'm assembling a list of parts I need as I'm disassembling the car for its color change. Most of the Aus Mini specialists don't seem to have online presences. Once I work out what I need, I'm going to price them through the US and UK sites, so I can accurately compare prices and work out if I should buy it there. I will eventually hit a space/weight limit on parts.
