Can binnacles be swapped?

Can binnacles be swapped?
Just a quickie question before I start researching part numbers and all...
Can the square, 2-gauge "Traveller" style instrument binnacle used in the Sprite from '92 onwards be swapped for the more traditional oval binnacle with the round speedo and 2 side gauges, or are the connecitons/gauges themselves incompatable? I prefer the look of the center-mount binnacle over the boxy Traveller-style one, and I wonder if anyone has ever swapped them?
Thanks!

Yes it can I've done it a few times. You have to swap wiring connectors over to the old Lucas style or Minispares (UK) sell a conversion kit wiring harness to make it easy Part No. PM05 (Not sure about in USA).
Central Speedo Conversion wiring harness
Also need the shorter speedo cable, temp gauge sender (cyl. head end) to match Smiths gauge, dash panel side trims, chrome centre ashtray. Speedo and centre binnacle can be bought complete new as part of the kit but are much cheaper used. White or black Smiths instruments are availiable. You will need to connect up oil pressure gauge pipe to engine block.
You also need to remove the black metal plate over hole in centre of bulkhead (more engine noise like Mk1/2 Minis!) and the padded top dash rail which leaves metal rail to be covered by black vinyl as original Coopers.
