Mini shell game
Yesterday my mate "Jamie" and I took a 1966 Austin Mini named “Ms Peel” to the docks in Southampton. Ms Peel will be sailing on the Jade Arrow to meet her new owner in Austin, Texas .
Whilst parking the mini in shipping berth I noticed another bit of kit out the corner of my eye. It was a beautiful blue and silver Cooper Sport. After finalizing the paper work the dock worker informed me both minis would be going stateside together. My jaw dropped when I heard that. My mate said in his deep Scottish accent, “No way that vehicle was 25 years old.“ It was either a 1999 or 2000 Cooper Sport. The dock worker said, “Log has it as a restored 1969 mini.” We both laughed. We knew it was “re-vinned“, not “restored“. Well both I hope it makes it thought Customs as the Cooper Sport is a thing of beauty.
Best of luck to ya mate.
