I'll take some pictures when I install it for ya. I noticed when I looked at it yesterday that it already has a hole cut for the rear seat bracket and the shifter but you have to cut a hole for the parking brake

All I have right now are some pictures of right after I got the carpet in before putting the seats back in and before any tweaking I've done to it. click on the to zoom in! 1, 2, 3

The rear piece fit really well while the front fit pretty good. Part of the problem with the front is that the tunnel in the middle where the shifter is is a little wonky on my car because it was originally a "magic wand" shifter and was later changed to remote shifter. Therefore it doesn't have the correct lump where the shifter is. It also fits a little big over the rest of the tunnel but it basically just follows the curve of the tunnel, just about a half an inch above it.

Everywhere else it lays flat and neat. And the stitched/wrapped edges along the sides are a nice touch.

I'll have to see what happens with mine because I have an automatic Mini. It might end up the same as yours did. BTW, I was wondering how you cut out the hole for the parking brake

The hole was already cut for me. It's basically just a slit that spreads out to a V cut. You can see what it should look like in the pics related to GBcarparts.com's carpet they have for sale.

OHHH Ok. I would've installed it backwards if I didn't see that picture. LOL

Just my opinion, but you've got thousands tied up in the Mini. You'll not be happy with it if you go cheap on anything as highly visible as carpet. Even if you have to save for a few months or years and live with the current stuff, go for the quality carpet (e.g. Newton Commercial) and pad/soundproofing. It will fit better, look better, and last longer.

fwiw,
Steve

To each his own I say! I'm pretty pleased with the carpet I bought and if I were building a show quality original car I might go with Newton Commercial carpet. But since I'm not and my budget isn't limitless I decided to go with the less expensive variety.

Caught red-handed!
It was in fact your car that gave me the inspiration for the checkerboard interior. Hope you don't mind that I borrowed a page out of the book of Big Norm. I thoroughly enjoy Ska music and most things checkerboard, so I'm in the process of converting the interior to checkerboard. Seats and door cards anyways.
I just need to find a set of low back seats to complete the look. My seats are from possibly an MG Metro and are just too damn big for a Mini.

Big Norm,

Nice interior! And... qskapunk, the quality of your cards is very nice. Man, I'd never attempt sewing my own card covers, either. Hey--We all have our own areas of expertise. I'm still looking for mine .
