Dice Link Install...

Anyone here install this or anything behind the factory head unit? I ask because they sent me the wrong part! I wanted the one that connects in the boot but I got the one that connects behind the head unit. I hear that it is tough to fit anything in there. Is this true? I could send it back but it took forever to get this one.

If any of you have tips or pointers please let me know.

BTW, my car is an '05.

Thanks in advance,

Blake

I've done the aux input, several times.

It's not hard and there is ample amount of room back there.

And I had no issues completely dismantling the dash of a week old car.

If you don't have them already be sure to have a few torx and phillips screwdrivers.

On an 05 I foud it best to leave the downtubes in and just pull them to the side.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I have an aftermarket Eclipse HU in my '05 and there is NO space behind that HU. My HD Drive +Play ipod interface is mounted in compartment to the LEFT of the dash (on the end), accessible only when the driver's side door is open.

There is so little space behind the HU that I had to jockey with all the wires back there for a LONG time before being able to get the HU reseated after putting an inline filter in to get rid of some engine noise.

Getting the HU out though is very easy.

Hmmm, now I am having second thoughts. I was thinking that I want to add the bluetooth this winter and that is one more thing behind the head unit.

I will just send back the Dice and get the correct boot one that I wanted. I am hoping I will have a working iPod for the Starved Rock.

Blake,

You may want to consider the HK Drive+play --- I have one mounted in my car and I like the interface very much. The separate screen is not for everyone but the navigation is absolutely superb.

There is a picture of what it looks like on my dash here (towards the bottom of the page).

Taylor,

I have seen that setup. The truth is that my music is ALWAYS on random and I just want to be able to have the ipod tucked away and on random play.

I will see what I can do with the one I have. The bluetooth is not for sure. I read good things but I like my headset.
