What happened to service at Patrick MINI?
Great Service
I for one vote for Patrick.
I had so many things go wrong with my new r56 it wasnt even funny.
They spent a week finally tracking down all the module failures with the car and finally got it back all fixed.
Think Blake was great and helpful
I dont know about the other dealers, but i say give Patrick a try.
This is my fourth mini and i wont buy another car.

Patrick saved the day AGAIN!!! I had my car in a trade show this weekend. We loaded the car from the shop into the trailer and it sat overnight in the CRAZY cold weather. When I went to start it Friday, nothing. just some clicks. I got on the phone with Patrick and they sent a tech to the show with a new battery on saturday no less! Installed the new one and took the old one away. Now if that isn't GREAT service then I don't know what is.
Had some work done at Patrick over the weekend and had a fabulous experience. I got professional, friendly and prompt service without any attitude (like I received at another local dealer). Next time I need service done, I'm headed to Patrick, even though it is a bit more out of my way.
i ACtually have a sked on them on the 21st. i was asked what service i need i told them i need the inspection 1 warranty and the annual oil change. my miles are 8700. i bought it march last year. it's a 2006 base cooper. what bugs me is i was not given a confirmation number, and when i asked if i need a loaner he said it will only take an hour? is that correct? i hope i get a reply ASAP. i bought my MINI at bill jacobs but if you will search my previous a bashed that dealer to oblivion coz i dont like their service. i had 2 services at knauz but it is too far from me. i love their ervice though. since patrick is nearer my house and i even got an invite of their new;y built service area, i wanna try them.
I have to vent about a recent issue with Patrick. A couple months back, I had some work done on my car there, after which I was advised that I'll soon be due for an Inspection II and that it may be in my best interest to consider getting a maintenance warranty extension. Wha-wha-what? I didn't know I was still eligible for that. I have a 2004 MINI Cooper, and my odometer at that time read somewhere around 73,000 miles.
I was told that it's probably a practical thing to do since I'm due for an Inspection II (~$800) and the clutch felt like it may need to be replaced a few thousand miles from now, both of which are covered by the maintenance extension. (I forget how much the clutch replacement would be, but added up with the Inspection, it was going to be more than the $1,600 they were quoting me on the extension.) He offered that I can arrange to have the clutch work done at the same time as the inspection and get it all over with.
So, I thought okay I'll have to bite the bullet, but I need to make some room for my budget to allow for such an expense. I was told I had till May to decide. Fair enough. It's still March.
So I called today (mid-April), ready to pay the piper. And they tell me, "Sorry, you're not elligible for the maintenance warranty." How's that?
Looks like I was never elligible even back in March because for some strange reason they didn't take into consideration that I was at 73,000 and the terms of the extension was the car had to have traveled less than that. (I already don't remember, exactly. Something like 60,000.)
So, I feel duped. Was it an honest mistake?
The guy on the phone suggested that they may have overlooked that I was already at 73,000 back in March. Seems unlikely now that I think about it, since I was being told about expecting an Inspection II in the same breath.
So, I'm a little disappointed by all of this. Or do you think I just dodged throwing money away and should instead go somewhere else? If so, suggestions?

This is why I don't deal with dealerships. I had a few bad experiences when my car was still under limited warranty. Are all dealerships bad? Naw, but I'll stick to Ed at Automekanika in Spring Grove. He is a super nice dude and has worked on my previous car, my MINI, my mom's car and all of my friends'. I also print his shirts
He specializes in German cars. If you want contact info, just let me know.
They also have a dyno there if anyone is itching to get on one...

i just got back from patrickmini for the 2nd time. the first time, i asked if i can have the inspection I with 1700 miles due for inspection they said no. i have to wait for the exact miles. ok. so i said can i have my annual oil change? they said yes. and im happy with that, the oil change is the one i really want done immediately anyway. today, my 2nd visit. i have problems with recline control in the drivers seat it was stuck up or something, when i got there, the guy(who is nice and sorry i don't know his name i didn't ask) just nudge it or something and it was fixed, and i was like omg... what did u do? i also said the reading on my ave speed on on board computer is too low so he taught me how to reset it. i also pointed to him the logo trim is peeling off on the driver side, it also was fixed. this is what i didn't like. the door hinge on the passenger side is starting to rust. guess what he told me? there really is nothing they can do about it that it is natural to rust coz of the salt getting there.. i was like huh? wtf? salt? in the door hinge?? how on earth?? and it is natural!!!? what happen to the 50 yr rust proof warranty of mini cooper??? well they didn't replace it... so i went home with the rust still on the door hinge.. i also pointed out the rust on the screw on the rear wiper... if i have the replacement screw i would replace it myself.. since they are the dealer you would think they have loads of extra new screws for the rear wiper and replace it just like that.. but noooooo. the rusted screw is still there... i like their service actually. they even wash my car even if i didnt ask. (better than billjacobs mini -- which ironically was where i bought my mini but their after sales service is a nightmare.) i didnt go back and ask why they didnt do anything with the rust spots coz im 1400 miles away from inspection I so i will just schedule with knauzmini and see what they say about the rust spots... i also have a pleasant service experience with knauzmini. could you tell me if they are giving me the BS on the rusted spots.. coz i know they are.. or is it just me?
I just had my first service as a MINI owner and what a pleasant experience at Jacobs BMW/MINI in Naperville.
I dropped the car off for oil change at lunch and got ride back to work. I didn't even wait for the ride back, someone was there to take me right away. They picked me up in the afternoon at the time i specified so I was able to pick up my car with oil and filter changed, pass. engine mount replaced, brake fluid flushed, wipers replaced and car washed.
Great job. I love it.
