What happened to service at Patrick MINI?
^^ what Blake said regarding the warranty.
I got mine used as well. I called MINIUSA to get the original "in service" date to know how much warranty was left (and to change the owner info on their database). Then I went to Patrick MINI and they were able to pull up the info based on the VIN. When you call for service, they ask for the mileage left on the service counter. You have to have less than 500 miles on the counter to get regular maintenance under warranty.
If you get the oil change before the counter tells you, then you have to pay.. that's my understanding anyways...

An oil change is not part of the warranty, it is part of the BMW Service plan, MINI come with 30K of FREE Service, you can buy 20K more to match your warranty. I question if the FREE service program always follows the MINI to a 2nd or 3rd owner. With the service indicator at -100 and if the MINI had less then 30K I would think the OIL change would be free. It does sound like you got hosed on the cabin filter, a part you can buy online for about $30 and change it yourself, it's inside the glove box.

. As Blake and I mentioned before, the original 3 yr/36,000 mile Full Maintenance follows the MINI.I believe zagadka has an '03 which should put her past the 3 years, unless the previous owner purchased the extra year. In this case, she would have to pay for the service. I would suggest going to the dealer and speak to an SA and have them pull up the maintenance history and verify if/when the full maintenance ran out.
Just want all to know that I had a great experience with Patrick over the last few days.
I scheduled my service on the 1st of August. Blake knew that I would need a loaner so that is why it took so long but it was not an urgent thing so it was fine with me. I took it in for the following.
Leaked Motor mount.
Clicking flywheel (it is an '05 thing.)
Passenger side seatbelt adjuster wouldn't adjust.
Dropped the car off on the 20th. In and out VERY quickly and was put into an MCSa (that was the only bad thing.) I was told that Rich would be working on the car and it would be done at the end of the day. Got a call from Rich when it was done and I asked him to hold on to it for the night and drive it again in the morning to listen for a rattle that has been driving me CRAZY. No problem. Rich calls at noon, turns out the rattle was a loose exhaust hanger and the noise was the exhaust hitting one of the rear control arms. All done. He took the time to tell me everything that he did. Cool.
Called Patrick and set up for a late pick up as I was unsure when I would be able to make it in. Got there and Blake was still there and he was super BUSY. I waited for a bit and he took the time to go over everything with me again. Very cool.
I will not hesitate bringing my car back the 100 miles round trip for the next service. Sure, Bill Jacobs is only 40 miles round trip but Patrick still has and will continue to have my business.

Nah, I like mine better than Dustin's... except perhaps the dash.

I've ALWAYS seem to have good service at Patrick. There is this guy named 'Rich', and he takes care of my car for me. He doesn't wash it unless I ask him to... Great person.!!!!!!!!! [J/K]

i had to literally bounce on my breaker bar to get the lugs off that
one wheel.
wtf's with all the torque? shouldve just torqued it to 90lbs
and told me to retorque it when i got home...

Speaking of Patrick... the guys back in parts are really on top of things!
I called a while back to inquire about a part. Dave told me they had the part I was looking for in stock. I asked what time they were open till. I said thanks - never mentioning that I would show up.
I arrived at Patrick that evening around 5pm - Dave pulled the part for me and was holding it up in the main building.... because MINI parts (located in another building) closes early! That's great customer service!! I was in and out of the dealer in 5 minutes.

So my battery died this morning.. in the garage at home. I tried to jumpstart it a couple of different ways with no success. I called MINI Roadside and they said they would send a tow truck (2.5 hour wait) and send someone else to try to jumpstart it again. 10 minutes later, after several attempts, he was able to jump the car to life.
I call off the tow truck and call over to Patrick to let them know I was driving in. I pull up, turn off the car..oops. it's dead again. I get checked in by Blake and Matt. they take the keys and get me a ride to work.
They replace the battery and check everything else out. Good as new again. On the way out, I pick-up the extended maintenance agreement and order a new replacement green roof for my cabrio. I'm a happy camper.
Thanks Blake, Matt and Rich for taking care of my MCC again

No Problem, I was happy to... Oh, wait you are talking about Blake and not me.
I got my MINI used and have had to take it to Patrick (closest to my home) three times. My first trip wasn't spectacular, 1.5 hours for an oil change after calling ahead.
But that was redeemed on two occasions, my clutch started to go one Sunday night, first thing Monday morning I drove it to the dealer without an appointment and they had it replaced by the end of the day.
Another time I was heading out of town and my coolant started boiling. I brought it in, had a fan replaced and was on the road in about an hour. Patrick also dealt with my Carmax warranty without any issues.
It was a breath of fresh air to be taken care of on the spot. Two thumbs up for there service, even if it is currently out of a double wide.
When I can afford a new MINI MCS it will be from Patrick.
