I hit a major pothole about 6 weeks ago on I-88 by Oakbrook.

One right front bent rim and destroyed tire. $1040, including a four wheel alignment.

I love my car, but man does it take a beating here in Chicago. Having second thoughts on getting another one.

Well, I put on my summer wheels and tires yesterday, figuring that this recent snowstorm will be the last. I'm figuring that I'll be better able to dodge the potholes with 205 tires vs 175 tires anyway.

Maybe if they put up orange cones on the potholes, we could at least pretend it was a slalom course, right?

I am putting my summer tires on next Sunday, though it may be worth waiting for another week beyond that. Higgens road right outside my door is much worse than Golf.

I, too, hit a pothole on Cicero. Luckily it didn't leak, but it was bad!

I bought the tire protection so the repair didn't cost a dime (and I have GP wheels on my non-GP MCS)
