I refuse to acknowledge that it is once again going to be dropping into the single and negative digits. So, I am doing some research on local dive shops. I am looking to get some dives in before my summer trip to the Great Barrier Reef. I do not want to travel too far just to get to the shop. Somewhere in Lake County, IL or SE WI would work. Are there any shops people recommend or caution against?

If this interests others perhaps some dives could be arranged.

I don't scuba myself and you're in God's country but I've seen a scuba shop in Skokie and it seems like it's been there forever... I'll try to look it up if you're interested...

 

Im PRETTY sure theres a scuba shop somwhere on Waukegan road in Glenview. Its by a japanese restaurant. I can also check on that if you want.

 

Lake Zurich, Rt 12 Between Ela and Old rand, next to the Costco, behind Oberwiess. Never shopped there myself but it may fit your needs or be close enough for you to check out.

 

I believe that one is Chicagoland Scuba.

I have the online info for most of the shops in the area. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of them. Nothing beats first hand feedback.
