I think id rather go used R53. It all depends what i can find.
There are a few around there is an 06 low mileage bare bones CR JCW at joe rizza ford down south been there almost a year because it has nothing on it bells and whistles wise. I haven't traveled down there or run a carfax on it but its still in warranty so most issues that could exist would be covered anyway. Also a Black JCW at Libertyville Toyota.
links:
Joe Rizza JCW (this has been there at least a year, thought about it when we found the Black 05 with more bells/whistles for less $)
Libertyville JCW (checks look like vinyl on a black roof so they could come off easy)
Grey/Grey 05
Blue/W 05 (never did get the blue names right think its lightning)
Silver/B 05 (not a great dealer at all)
BRG/B 06 (cw/prem/hk )
HB/W 05
Gray/B 06

I have my eyes on an 05 cr that is optioned just like my wifes so I won't tell you where that one is (unless I find out I won't be able to get it).

Wow thanks for the great list . Now to begin the arduous task of searching through them all.

I hate to sound like a traitor, but i think tomorrow i am gonna go try and test drive a Mazdaspeed 3. I like it and it seems pretty fast, i know it wont be as fun as the MINI but maybe itll surprise me.

Marco could make a city bus fast in the cones and fun to drive. You will always be welcome. Once a MINI owner, always a MINI owner, even while driving a MS3. See Ya in the timing lights.

Thanks, but the MS3 is a long shot. The MINI is the front runner. The Mazda has to be REALLY good to be worthy of me.

Not a problem, figure use my lunacy/obsession for good .

Just FYI the Mazda 3 is a great car we traded in the problematic 04 Cooper on the SP23 version. Kept it for a year. Traded it in on the 05 S. No matter how fun it is it will not be a Mini and you'll want to come back. (my TDI Golf corners as well as the stock S maybe better. I want a Mini for myself LOL)

At least the Mazdaspeed 3 will hold its value due to rarity. Plus even though it is fwd it beat a wrx lap time through an autox course with the same driver behind the wheel of both. (think it was Road and Track doing the comparo)

I figured, theres no way the MINI will be beat on fun factor. I kind of want to see if i can get a free test drive out of it. I might like it. Ive always liked the regular 3, and the MS3 is a winning formula.

So i test drove the MS3 today...and i must say, it did surprise me a little. I dont know if its a worthy MINI replacement, but its definitely a nice car. i didnt get a chance to see how well it handles, but i can tell that its a damn fast car . Theres no shortage of power thats for sure.

This could be a tough decision in the end...
