Looks like we will have the best weather for the weekend. Based on posts and people I have talked to looks like a dozen MINI's for the weekend. There is always room for more and ALL are welcome. See Ya on Sat or Sun.

 

I want to update my Garmin for the drive out. It looks like we'll be headed up from Glenview and the link only goes to an area west of Rockford near Winnebago. There are three McDonalds near there, Rockford on Auburn St, downtown Winnebago on Capriola St, and Winnebago just off of SR 20 on Caprio Lane.

Hello Bennett and DMAC57, if you want to meet us at the McD's/Gas Station on the corner of 59/12/Rand Rd and 120 on Sat at 8:15 am-ish and drive out together that's where we stop for breakfast. Post or PM if you think you will or anyone can just show up.

If you can not find a room in Galena think about Dubuque, IA for a room. It's only 15 miles away and cheap rooms abound.

We also have DOOR PRIZES, some for your MINI and some for the Wine Knows in the group.

If you can only make it one day, I encourage Sunday, come early and have lunch in Downtown Galena then join us for the ALL afternoon 3 leg route around Galena and back to Rockford.

 

So I plan to be at Chestnut Mountain at noon. I guess check in at the view isn't until later?

 

Might think about meeting us in Loran, see post 29, if you are coming in from the south. The leg from Loran to Chestnut makes the stuff we did in your area look like a flat, straight road

So Loran is small I take it or are all of you actually stopping somewhere? AutoXCooper I beleive I still have your # from when I had to meet up with you guys down here but I do not have my phone on me, if you could PM me that again I would appreciate it. Then I could find out where the rest of the crew is in relation to where I will be.

 

Loran is a one street town, there's a diner/bar/dive at the north end of town on the east side of the road. We'll slow down for the town and honk, you can jump in the back of the line. Cell's are iffy and I'll be busy keeping all 4 on the pavement.
