New Owner - MINI options - Question

Hey All,

Just signed last night for my first Mini! From Montreal. Excited to join the club! I have my first question.

- I suppose to meet the Credit lady Monday. Supposedly is to do my credit check, buy my sales guy said she will be the one offering things like Replacement insurance? And I believe she will offer me other packages.

Any suggestions, or warnings on this? I'm sure she'll try to push a few options. What shouldn't I take? What should I take? ANy thing that my insurance already cover?

Just so it helps, I'm leasing my car 0 down, for 39 months.

Thanks ahead for the help! Looking forward to future posts!

I would not get any of the paint, interior protection stuff.

Just wax the car on a regular basis, get a good interior protectant, thats all you will need.

Mini's tend to be prone to stone chips. I don't have any yet, but my MINI guy said the stone guard was a good option. If its dark colour paint, and you don't consider chips badges of honor, go for it. Other than that, it's how comfortable you would be with any of the other insurance options.

Most dealer addition's are big $$$$ there's usually a cheaper option in the aftermarket world which in the case of the Mini is pretty big.... see vendor's directory here on the Nam for example. Depending on how long you think you might keep your Mini you might want to consider an extended warranty but don't pay what they quote you, the finance person will offer you that, they make huge $$$ on it so if you want it...... barter.

Oh and welcome to a great forum! I've only been on here since Oct but I'm enjoying it much more than the previous Maxima forum I was on, what kind of Mini are you getting?

Thanks for the help! Appreciate it!

I am expecting them to try to sell me a few extended warranties, but I just don't know what they will be. Like most insurance companies, alot is not worth it, and sometimes a way to get money out of us. But I am sure there will be some that will look tempting to take.

I got the SoHo package. They got quite a good liquidation on that package.
