R56 will not start - fuel pump?

Hello - looking for advice. I have a 2008 MCS which has about 35000km on it (lived close to work). In the last week Having intermittent start problems - engine will crank but not start unless trying for a few minutes and pumping the gas. Mostly a problem on cold start. Engine light will flash but turn off. Fan also comes on and off intermittently. had break pads, oil, camshaft sensor and battery all changed in the last few months with mechanic.
I suspect this is the high pressure fuel pump issue that lead to extended warranty in the usa. Can anyone confirm that mini canada will honour the same replacement and do I just contact the local service centre or would I need to speak to someone specific?
Thanks in advance

Mine went dead on me a few years ago while on a club drive. No indication that anything was wrong other than the car not starting.

I wished there was a fuel pressure gauge on our cars. I had it replaced on my own dime (though my car was out of warranty). While you're in there, good time to change the "life time" fuel filter.

I believe the extension of warranty was on the power steering pump. Not the fuel pump but I drive an R53. I have not had a car in the last 20+ years of driving where the electric fuel pump lasted more than 10 years.
