WELCOME MINI NEO
WELCOME MINI NEO
I have been notified that MINI NEO is disbanding.
I would personally like to invite ALL NEO members to join BRM.
I encourage all BRM members to join me in welcoming new members to BRM.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
Rebecca Wells

Note - they're not disbanding (unless they so choose), but they've gotten small enough that I figure BRM could take them in if they wanted to. They're down to maybe 10 active members from the 100+ when I used to run it.
This is a sad Day
They gave up on Mininus or is that Minus the Mininus,
Anyway a sad day.
Hehehe
Hi Rebecca
I test drove a '04 base mini 5 speed Manual
It seemed a little loose compared to my '03 'S'.
Does that seem normal or is it worn out.
Transmission loose (lots of play)
Suspension Loose (not as tight as the 'S'
Does that seem right or is it an old worn out Mini?
I see that Classic is offering $1000.00 off MSRP.

The Cooper is a... "softer" car than the S, that's the best way I can put it. Unless specifically ordered with the Sport Plus suspension (which is the same one on the S), the Cooper has a more standard, smoother riding suspension than the S. So, if you're used to an S, a Cooper will feel quite different.
The early (02-04) Cooper 5 speeds were a bit sloppy. I had an '02 Cooper, and its shifter didn't feel anywhere as crisp as my S does. It was also difficult to get into reverse at times.
So, I wouldn't say it is worn out. Look at the mileage, etc.
I drove a base Cooper on the Dragon a few years back, and was pleased with its performance. It was a much silkier experience than the s.

Slumpp,
You're welcome to drive my 05 if you like. It's a Cooper with the sport suspension (but a bit heaver since it's a cabrio) That might give you a bit of a comparison to work from.

You can drive my 04 Cooper. I think the one you are looking at is wore, my trans is not sloppy at all. Suspension will not be as tight as the S, with out the sport suspension they all seem sloopy.
I aplogize for saying they are disbanding. I hope that any and all that want to join BRM will show up.
Most likely not.
I was up your way in November doing a drive with BRM. Big fun for sure. Missed meeting you then. I'm sure our paths will cross.
I just figured out what BRM really stands for.
Drum roll please..... Blue Racing MINI !!!!!
