I laughed my butt off when ABBA was mentioned...Moose's mom would play ABBA for him & his sisters when it was time to clean the house, so I unless I want him having a PTSD flashback, I try to avoid playing it when he is around

No freaking way ! more like "NDoTB" "New Dorks or Teeny Boppers" sorry never !

I was very much a heavy fan of the Schenkers- Michael and Rudy, so it was MSG, Scorps and UFO. I love the old scorpions, fly to the rainbow, virgin killer (the import cover for that album was waaaayyy unacceptable !) Steamrock fever (If you like Diick Dale give this song a listen - unmistakable influence). I liked Jeff Beck, Steely Dan and so on.

The closest I think I got to the pop stuff is Missing Persons but I think their music is a bit more complex than the usual "pop" and that is mainly due to Terry Bozzio (Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa) You need to listen to some of the other songs not just "words" or "walking in LA"

As an Audio Engineer / Instructor, I used this album as an excellent example of engineering. Everything is in its place, can be heard and sounds wonderful.

Here's a vid to refresh your memory

To keep from stealing this thread, I have a thread going for music discussion here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=131622

Feel free to join in !

Cheers

Oh yeah, I graduated HS in 1987 and my wife in 88', we've been together since 84

(Interesting thought 280mike)

So I went to the link Spits and I can't find the Milli Vanilli? What fun is that?!? No Ice Ice Baby? I am not an "audio engineer".

I've never heard of the group in that video... no memory file stored for it in my brain. Certainly interesting hair and outfit though.

This has been one of the best (fun) threads... but if it must end... well BOO HOO. Since I'm still kind of new to the forums- what else should be discussed on the subject? It was obviously important to talk about the MUSIC he was listening to when he was treated a certain way. It seemed to be a justification of "man-ness"... I must have missed the point somewhere.

If the wife was '88 then she probably had the hair thing down! Rock on!

There was some discussion in the thread regarding Duran Duran but really feel free to introduce yourself on the thread and throw some music thoughts in

I can't believe you haven't heard of Missing Persons, Dale made huge headlines with the crazy boob things back then. They only had the one album.

Wife's was more the feathered look rather than the "big do"

I think the thread here is dead, the momo has lost its momentum, perhaps we should close the door and move on.....Long live rock !

I saw Terry Boizzio play drums 4 Jeff Beck

BTW, I hate all "hair metal" of the 80's....sorry(and that doesn't include Scorps,Priest,Ozzy), that stuff was....."momo"

And for you Maiden fans out there...I saw the "Killers" tour with Paul DiAnno. The went straight down the toilet after sacking him. BD annoys the **** out of me.

They didn't go down the toilet because of BD, Steve Harris is lost and really do they need three guitars ? Ends up muddy. They need to go back to basics ! Bruce's solo stuff is much better.

Love the DiAnno days too !
