so I'm driving through the park today.....

with the top down. Listening to the new AD/DC full blast. Some guy in a pick up drove by and called me something that rymes with momo.

And Meeko Mowse wasn't even sitting in my lap.

I'm not casting aspirsions at anyone, but, if that was my thing I'd be driving a a Mercedes AMG convertible with the child support I would have saved.

Crashton Nov 17, 2008 01:21 PM

Yep a Miata & a MINI. Miata's are very nice cars. Too bad lots of folks won't give one a second look. Guess those folks are not secure in their man hood.

Wow! You were 5? Must have had a good job. I guess I was 9 when it came out... never owned the "wax" version though so I guess you're one up on me for that.

What can I say, a classic is a classic. No one ever questions my "preferences" though... and I like the Flock too.

That's what I was thinking.

Do you have the ol' "wax" version of "Back in Black" too? I guess that would be kind of hard to play in the Cooper.

Some of are too long legged to fit in them... (I tried once). My brother has one.. I make fun of him, but he's in California, so...

SpitfireMkI Nov 17, 2008 02:30 PM

Egads ! "Back in black" purchased when thee was only a toddler ?

Now I feel old.......1980, I was more than twice your age !.......(11)

But I had Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, UFO, Michael Schenker Group and RUSH not those Aussie sissies !

Sorry someone referred to you as something that sounds like a steering wheel whilst you were "tooling" around in yer' Coop.

Somewhere here on NAM I recall a British chap saying that "over there" only "momos" drive MINIs.....perhaps the stud in the big truck was from the Isle ?

BTW- I was just in London, if the comment is true then I think the ratio of "momos" may exceed that of the other type. Loads and loads of MINIs !

No hang ups or anything like that, just having fun !

Cheers !

Yep I think Mazda screwed up when they didn't put a tilt wheel in there. They lost a lot of sales with that omission.

Why not ? I got my first Rush "45" single when I was 6 side a was "Temples of Syrinx" can't remember side B and I played it on my Disney "Pluto" turntable !

That was also about the same time my "rocker" cousin gave me Alice Cooper's Love it to death and School's out ....hah and my older brother was listening to the Doors and the Beatles

My parent's had no idea on the AC lyrics !

Mowse Nov 18, 2008 08:06 AM

All right I'll come clean.....I was 19 when I got B in B

and a soph in college. Spitfire, I had every record by all the bands you mentioned along with Motorhead, Killing Joke, Pistols, Clash, GBH, Saxon, Sabbath and everything in the world that had screaming guitars and crashing drums.

Everybody in my dumb ass jock frat hated me.

BTW......I saw AC/DC 2x with Bon Scott:thumbsup:

Excellent

Long live long hair, dark lyrics, screamin guitars, crashing drums, thundering bass, and of course, MINI Coopers !

You're coming clean now? Nice. So you were 19 when it came out 28 years ago? HS! I'm still kind of new around here... but I was actually 9 when "Back in Black" came out. I think my 7 year old brother had gotten the highly evolved "cassette tape" at some point. I didn't get much into AC/DC until I was in high school (between '87-'90)... think I was 16 or so. But by then it was "BIG HAIR" stuff. (And Flock of Seagulls)

Anyway "Mowse", after my efforts to try and show some camraderie with you... you were outed by Reboopie and you are now on my naughty list.

Hey Reboopie thanks for calling this one!

moose_n_squirrel Nov 18, 2008 02:01 PM

That is one thing you can count on with Reboopie, she always tells it like it is! I love her for it! Its funny to hear you recount the music of your youth...do I dare fess up to what I liked in Junior High ('89-'91)?
