2nd Annual Crater of Diamonds Poker Run

Gregg needs a good count of participants to prepare the restaurant and have enough rally bags for everyone.


For the second year, Gregg Petersen is leading the Crater of Diamonds Poker Run. This is not your normal Poker Run. During the route, all participants draw cards. High card wins at every stop. At the end of the run, each player can trade in up to 3 cards (four if they have an ace) and draw to make their best hand. Winner gets this years Crater of Diamonds trophy.


The rules are as follows:
1. We play with two decks due to the number of participants. (3 decks if we need it)
2. At each designated stop, each participant will draw a card.
Stop 1: Embassy Suites Parking Lot
Stop 2: Amity, Arkansas
Stop 3: Murfreesboro, Arkansas
Stop 4: Hollywood (yes, Hollywood), Arkansas
Stop 5: Bismarck, Arkansas


3. High card wins a door prize.
3. If two or more players draw the high card, the prize goes back in the pot.
5. On the last stop, players will draw their last card. High card wins again. Then each player can trade in up to three cards (4 with an Ace) and make their best Poker hand. (Sorry, no wild cards)
6. Winner of the hand gets this years Crater of Diamonds trophy plus whatever was held over in the pot.


We want to invite all MINI Owners to take part in this years event. Here is the schedule:


Central Arkansas members can meet at the K-Mart parking lot at 8:00 am and caravan over. We will be leaving the parking lot at 8:30 sharp. We will travel to the Embassy Suites parking lot in Hot Springs to start the drive. For those of you who live closer to Hot Springs, we will have the pre-drive meeting at 9:20 am and depart by 9:30 am.

NOTE: This drive is more touring than spirited. However, faster drivers will be invited to go ahead of the pack. They must remember to stop at the predetermined card draw locations in order to be in the running for each door prize. If they are not there to draw their card, we will consider them FOLDED.


VARIABLE: We will make every effort to stop at the Crater of Diamonds State Park for participants to take some time to look around. Unfortunately, we tried this last year to no avail. The park was so busy, no parking spots were available. It was packed. If there is no room, we will continue our trip without stopping. We apologize in advance for this inconvenience. We know many of you would like to take a look, but sometimes it's more fun to motor on.
