AMVIV 2006 date
Judy and I will be there! We got Murray too late last Spring to attend the '05 event, but we used the info posted at Sin City MINI's site to have a nice weekend on our own in January with a rented Lotus.
I also plan to have a meal at Hoffbrau Haus! We've been there a couple of times on our own, and it's good food and fun. Vegas is FULL of great restaurants, so whether or not the officiel event dinner is there seems unimportant. I'm looking forward to hitting Todai - all you can eat sushi, udon, tempanyaki, and more: highest quality at a great price! (Located at the southern tip of the shops at the Alladin resort.)
Oh yeah!

Cooprd, yes please, post away on the dates. The more people know about it, the more people will come and the more fun we have.
OctaneGuy, I just replied to Linda's pm. We definitely want C3 involved again. You helped us out a bunch this year by organizing the dinner. We want to try to do the dinner ourselves this time but we will certainly be hitting you guys up for help. Do you have or know a decent printer? The route books we had, we were quite proud of, but we think we paid too much, since we had to do a rush job on them. We'd like basically the same (with new maps and details and such) but even better.
Hofbrauhaus was good, but as Ame0ba said, there are hundreds of great restaurants in Vegas. I think that we're going to try to mix it up and have the dinner at a different place every year. If you REALLY loved one of the prior year restaurants, you can always go there on the "free" night. Personally, the Spice Market Buffet at the Aladdin (the dinner in 2004) is my pick for flat out best buffet in Vegas. We take out-of-town friends there when they want a good buffet. But we want to mae it so that every year is different. Otherwise, you have little incentive to come back every year. That's why we are trying to mix up the drives a bit, add a new drive, add a track day...

I have not read anything so far that brought this up. So I will.
Have you guys thought about making one of those tracks an AutoX track. This would be a great event for that. Not everyone will want to full out race there cars. Auto X is a safe way for even non race poeple to "get the feel" of racing.
I will also help the vendors there because there is a lot of standing around

Mike, the track day is going to be Phil Wicks Driving Academy. It's a real driving school, not an open track day. My understanding is that any time you're on the track, there is an instructor in the car with you.
Something that Phil routinely does at his schools is that during the lunch break, the track is opened to everyone. You don't get to drive fast, but you can take any roadworthy car out and do a couple of laps. No helmet required, kids/significant others/dogs/etc in the car are ok. It's going to be in conjunction with the Boot And Bonnet Show, so hopefully we can get a hundred or more cars going around. It'll make a GREAT picture on the start line!
Jim, I'm expecting that Randy will be there. He has been at both AMVIVs so far.

I just thought since you have all that track to use it would be nice to det up an auto cross for those who are interested. Auto cross is a big thing in the mini world.
It will still be great fun though.

It would be nice, but we really don't have "all that track". We have a road track with about 10 or 11 corners. And a nice area for the BnB show.
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway has 17 tracks total, we get 1.

When I left AMVIV II last year I couldn't wait for AMVIV III. I have already submitted for vacation time and will be making my hotel reservations shortly!! Thanks Sin City for putting this together again.
Can't wait!

Yes. I'll ask the guy doing the artwork to make up something that can be downloaded and printed.
