WTB-Wider Flares needed
WTB-Wider Flares needed
Hi, I'm in need of wider flares to cover the tires (tyres?) on my '04 MINI. I need them about 3" or so wider than the stock ones. PLEASE DO NOT bring up the Palo Uber body kit which I believe was covered, recovered, discovered, miscovered and who knows what else-overed in a post under Interior/Exterior forum. As an aside, does this thread need to be under the "Interior/Exterior" forum?? Let me know webmasterguy. Anywayz, I need to have wider flares and I can have them fabricated if necessary, but since I don't want to re-invent the wheel, er, flare, maybe someone out there makes something I can use as is or with a little modification. As usual, dollars are important. Summing up, I would like to buy existing flares that are about 2 to 3 inches wider than stock and I really don't want this thread to swing into a discussion about why someone's stuff is better or worse, who's a jerk and who's not, or whatever. Just let me know where I can get the flares. By the way, I'm aware of the flares from "Mini Spares" in England. They appear to be not wide enough, but I'm checking them out. Thanx for your help.

No, I haven't checked them, but the Konigseder ones in the other thread were around 4K, which is out of my ballpark. I'm be checking the MINI Speed stuff, they have ZEEMAX, Carzone and LaVacca aero kits, so maybe something will work. I really don't want an aero kit; just larger arches in an attempt to keep things somewhat subtle. Thanx for your help, Mike

a little birdy told me there could be an affordably priced wide body kit available at some point. My suggestion is look at the zeemax kit... or wait and see if this kit comes into frution.
You'rer probably right about the arches neeeding to blend into the front and rear bumpers. Again, I'd like to retain most of the stock appearance, but need to cover the tyres, so maybe the flares and bumpers can be modified to look more or less subtle. Thanx for your insight. Mike Predina
