Local Machine Shop
I've got a new Mini coming, and will probably be buying some aftermarket wheels with 12mm lug holes. Since the new mini's use 14mm bolts, I'll either need to get the wheels drilled to 14mm, or use a 14 -> 12mm stud conversion kit.
So, anyone know of a reputable machine shop that could drill the holes without error? Seems like an easy job, but I'd rather pay a little extra for higher quality work.
Thanks!
Josh

Can not answer on where to go, but can answer that drilling is the wrong thing to do. Since the large bolt pattern will not in centered to the existing holes but more of an offset, the existing rims would have to milled/bored to the right size. It will not be cheap and the rims would have to be looked at carefully. If you could post a pic of the rim front and rear it would help.
A machine shop with a cnc horizontal mill can possibly do it and replicate it correctly to all rims, if they talk about a drill press, run !! Also note, no shop will take liability for altering a rim and may find that they will not touch it because of legal issues.
You would be much better off to find the right fit rims up front, safer, cheaper, and no warranty issues.
Hope that helps ....
